Saul of Tarsus, a Pharisee in Jerusalem after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, swore to wipe out the new Christian church. Saul is traveling the road to Damascus when a glowing light overwhelms him and the voice of Jesus declares, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” Suddenly blind and helpless, Saul is led into Damascus where, for three days, he rests in the house of Judas. Meanwhile, the voice of Jesus instructs Ananias to visit Saul that he might regain sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Saul is baptized and soon begins preaching to all that indeed “Jesus is the Son of God.”
