Cornelius, a Roman centurion gentile and a devout worshipper of God, is commanded while in prayer to send for Peter. Peter is told in a vision beforehand "what God has cleansed, you must not call common!" Overcoming his prejudice of the gentiles, Peter enters the house of the centurion and preaches Christ to them.
